photo booth props

via {here}
Make-shift and pre-set photo booths are becoming a mainstay for today's wedding. And what's a little photo booth action without some super fun props? I'm really digging the sombrero's this couple had for their Sayulita wedding. Check out all of its lovely goodness on SMP today!

I think my favorite props at a photo booth are the chalkboard word bubbles - guests get so creative! :)

What is your favorite photo booth prop?

the getaway

Happy Wedding Wednesday, friends!

Today, we are talking getaways. I've really come to appreciate the creative couple that plans an out-of-the-ordinary escape at the end of their reception. Horseback, golf cart, bicycle - the possibilities are truly endless. I'm loving this Swiss-style cable car getaway!

Isn't that so fun? This New Hampshire mountain wedding was captured by Leigh Miller photography. Beautiful scenery can never hurt your chances of having great wedding photos, but Leigh Miller did a fantastic job with this event! Be sure to check out the rest of this gallery {here}.

What is the most fun getaway you've witnessed? Or did you have a unique getaway of your own? Do share in the comments!

SMP feature: Sparkle and Hay

via {here}
Heart. Bursting! How cute is this? The lovely Erin, of Sparkle and Hay married her beau, Dan, back in October. Their STUNNING wedding is being featured on Style Me Pretty today. The big day was captured by the talented Anna Sawin. So much detail was put into this obviously beautiful event. Be sure to check out the entire post and gallery here.

Congrats, Erin & Dan!

save your date!

Happy Monday to ya! Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

With holiday engagements here and gone (in a flash!), it's time for those couples to begin brainstorming Save-the-Date ideas that will set the tone for the wedding weekend! Engaged couples, not sure you want to go the 'fridge magnet route? Here's a small collection of some of my favorite non-traditional ideas...

via {here}

I love interactive stationery! Found these balloon beauts by way of Emmaline Bride {a fabulous blog you must check out!}.

via {here}

Brides and grooms, are you "foodies?" This is a gift guests can keep and use  for a long time! LOVE :)

via {here}

Everyone always wants to know the couples' "story." So why not share it? Loving this typography and timeline set up!

via {here}

For the travel-fiends, seal your traditional save-the-date with these atlas stickers by KisforCalligraphy.

Guests end up "rocking out" at receptions anyway, so send them a concert-style ticket to get the big show on their calendar!

Fun stuff, right? Which one is your favorite?

SMP feature for GLE/Kellie Kano!

I've mentioned this wedding before, but this morning I must bring it up again because this is so special. My heart leapt today, LEAPT, out of my chest when I saw that my mentor, Grace Beason, was on Style Me Pretty! The featured wedding was captured by the amazing Kellie Kano (she's wonderful - you MUST check out her work!). I mean just look at these images, well you can stare if you'd like...

all images by {Kellie Kano Photography via SMP}
Matt & Elizabeth are such a special couple. The personal touches on this wedding were sublime to the occasion. Elizabeth's mom, Jenny, worked tirelessly on decor and flowers, Elizabeth's sisters helped with the stationery and photobooth. Every time you turned around the family was pitching in to make the day special for those two lovebirds. I was so excited to be there with Grace and help the day unfold.

*Sidenote*, all wedding vendors can attest to the fact that when your work shows up on SMP, you do a lil' happy dance. Well, maybe a big, jump-for-joy, hallelujah dance. But a jig nonetheless. So BIG congrats to Grace Leisure Events and Kellie Kano for your hard work and this awesomesauce feature!

Okay, enough - if you haven't done so already - head over to SMP and check out the feature and image gallery in its entirety! Enjoy :)

vacay + SMP FUN!

via {here}
I'm packing tonight to head to sunny Florida tomorrow! No, I'm not packing a wedding dress, but aren't these images beautiful? I've got some much needed QT with one of my best friends in the world and our mommas. And I couldn't be more excited! Please don't think I'm procrastinating with this post (even though I am just a tinsey, winsey bit!). I have something else absolutely wonderfully wedding to share with you! See told ya it wasn't all fluff...

Jacin Fitzgerald, of {lovely little details}, has one of the most adorable & informative wedding blogs out there (newly revamped I might add). But today is extra special, because Jacin and her hubby's wedding was featured on a lil wedding blog called Style Me Pretty! Yes, pure elation over here! Aside from the fact that us #TWIPS are all huge SMP fans, Jacin looks stunning! And her wedding seems like it was a dream come true for the happy couple...

See! I told ya...stunning. Check out the full post {here}. And be sure to check out Jacin's blog, {lovely little details}!

Okay, off to finish packing. Y'all have a great weekend! See ya next week :)

winter wishes

Winter has an air of romance about it - I'm not sure if it's the cozy fire, the hot chocolate, cuddling under a blanket...there are too many wonderful parts to choose from. It is a season for being grateful, spreading joy and professing love; all ideas and emotions present at a wedding. Here is an inspiration board I created on SMP to express this very season...

winter wishes

I hope you all have a Holiday filled with love, family and friends! And best wishes to those getting married!

Woo! These beads give each look a little pop, don't ya think? That first set of pearls on the gold chain are my favorite (classic + chic, plus a little bling!) what's not to like?

Okay, on to more important (and exciting news)! Alison, aka The Knotty Bride (aka one of my blog HEROES), has launched her brand-spankin' new site! You'd be silly not to sneak over there and check it out! New color scheme, Vendor Love (for all you brides on the hunt for rockin' vendors), real wedding features plus MUCH, MUCH more! Run, don't walk to theknottybride{dot}com right now!

dahlia texture

via {Style Me Pretty}
I'm in love with the texture and pattern of these dahlias! One flower, one color, super simple - and it works! It's a great pop of color against those charcoal Anthropologie dresses...

tgif + sweet baskets

Hi, strangers! It's been a while and I'm excited to get back in the blogging-saddle!

Hope your week is wrapping up nicely :) Here a few nuggets from this mornings SMP post.

via {Amy Majors Photography}
Those baskets are adorable & such a neat idea for sweet love notes in lieu of a guest book! And how beautiful is this dessert display? Love it.

See the rest of this backyard inspiration shoot {here}. Two more weddings lined up for this month, so I will have lots to share come December! :)

Y'all have a great weekend & best wishes to those getting married!

Perfectly Placed: Table Settings

Being a guest at a wedding, or any party for that matter, should be an experience! I love it when brides and grooms go the extra mile to provide surprises around every corner for their friends and families. These surprises can be done in a million different ways. One of my favorites happens to be place settings.

Layered ceramic, beautiful cloth napkins, twinkling crystal glasses and a perfectly placed menu card can be a nice surprise for a guest when they take their seat. Here are a few lovely examples I've come across...

Pops of red + tweed table runner are a great contrast.
Love the gold dot charger!
Playful flag + fruit combo...
Horns add just enough theme to the table!
Go dainty with floral layered plates...
Rustic colors and tableware are perfect for Fall!
Place settings are another great place to incorporate florals...
White-washed cermic + fun patterned napkins are my favorite!

tgif + hello, october

Today is the first day of October and the weather in North Carolina couldn't be more fitting! That cool breeze was exactly what I think we've all been hoping for...and it got me in the mood for some fall-styled weddings! Check out this clip of an inspire shoot from SMP...

From Beth of The White Dress by the Shore and Candace of Jubilee Events… via {Style Me Pretty}

This shoot is completely, drop-dead gorgeous! Plus it totally gets me geared up for the events we have in the coming weeks! Fall is quickly out-pacing Spring for the busiest time of the year for weddings. And what's not to like? The mild weather. The rich color-schemes. I may sound biased...well, because I am! I love fall!  :)

And today happens to be Friday! TGIF to everyone and best wishes to those getting married this weekend!

Bicycle for two, please!

bicycle for two, please!

I love it when couples incorporate bicycles into their engagement shoots or weddings! It brings back a sense of whimsical fun that often gets lost in the hustle & bustle of wedding planning. How can you NOT smile when riding a bicycle with the one you love?

sweet treats

I'll admit it. I have a major sweet tooth! And what could be better than combining something so delectable with beautiful design? Wedding cakes are such a fun (and delicious) part of the big day. And feeding into my own modern design taste, bakers are becoming more and more daring with their designs.

I find myself leaning toward square instead of round, clean lines and incorporating floral design into the cake. Flavors? I swoon for red velvet, vanilla/chocolate marble and yellow cake. And only one icing has the key to my culinary heart - buttercream! What type of cake tickles your taste buds?

Here's a inspiration board I created at Style Me Pretty with a few fabulous treats for you - Enjoy!
